A Friend Writes……….
This just in over the email transom:
Dear American,
I need to ask you to support an urgent secret business relationship with a
transfer of funds of great magnitude.
I am Ministry of the Treasury of the Republic of America. My country has had
crisis that has caused the need for large transfer of funds of 800 billion
dollars US. If you would assist me in this transfer, it would be most
profitable to you.
I am working with Mr. Phil Gram, lobbyist for UBS, who will be my
replacement as Ministry of the Treasury in January. As a Senator, you may
know him as the leader of the American banking deregulation movement in the 1990s. This transaction is 100% safe.
This is a matter of great urgency. We need a blank check. We need the funds as quickly as possible. We cannot directly transfer these funds in the names of our close friends because we are constantly under surveillance. My family lawyer advised me that I should look for a reliable and trustworthy person who will act as a next of kin so the funds can be transferred.
Please reply with all of your bank account, IRA and college fund account
numbers and those of your children and grandchildren to
wallstreetbailout@treasury.gov so that we may transfer your commission for
this transaction. After I receive that information, I will respond with
detailed information about safeguards that will be used to protect the
funds.
Yours Faithfully,
Minister of Treasury Paulson

Funniest thing I’ve read all day? Quite possibly.

“The way I see it”:
I, like every American I’m speaking with, we’re ill about this position that we have been put in. Where it is the taxpayers looking to bail out. But ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health care reform that is needed to help shore up our economy. Helping, oh, it’s got to be about job creation, too. Shoring up our economy, and getting it back on the right track. So health care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions, and tax relief for Americans, and trade — we have got to see trade as opportunity, not as a competitive, uh, scary thing, but one in five jobs created in the trade sector today. We’ve got to look at that as more opportunity. All of those things under the umbrella of job creation.

As U said yesterday this crisis make the withdrawal from Iraq an economic imperative. McCain can talk abouy victory all he wants – without defining it – but the Treasury can’y sustain the activity which John would know if he hadn’t slept thru Econ at Annapolis.
Back in 1954 when Ike received Matt Ridgeway’s report on what would be required to fight in Vietnam after Dien Bein Phu he turned to his Treasury Secty – “Electric” Charlie Wilson – and asked what it would mean. “It would mean a deficit mr President,” he was told. And one of the participants in the meeting knew that, right then and there, any major committment to IndoChina was dead on arrival.
Republicans have sure changed since Ike.Maybe that is why is grandaughter supports Obama.

More deep thoughts:
If money isn’t loosened, this sucker could go down.

Here’s an idea – Let’s solve this thing by just eliminating the capital gains tax.

An alternative plan: Why don’t we just send Bill O’Reilly and Lou Dobbs to the homes of those responsible and have them yell at them until the crisis is resolved ?

First on the list of “the homes of those responsible” would, of course, be those blacks and Mexicans our Caucasian spokesperson, Steve Sailer, has identified as the root cause of the problem.
(Finally I’m getting a handle on this thing. Letterman asked the wrong guy to be on his show. I am, however, suspending my consumption of Snickers and Doritos until an agreement has been reached.)

One caveat to my insights: “I have not had a chance to see the Plan in writing so I’ll have to examine that.”
(No it’s not because I was having tea yesterday with Lady Lynn Forester de Rothschild or preparing a speech for Bill Clinton’s Global Initiative – I was busy looking at the pictures they send to my via my TeeVee and checking my email.)

I’ve been involved in taxations for longer then I care to admit, both on the personal side (all my working life!!) and from a legal standpoint since satisfying the bar and pursuing tax law. I’ve rendered a lot of advice and redressed a lot of wrongs, and I must say that what you’ve posted makes utter sense. Please continue the good work – the more individuals know the better they’ll be equipped to comprehend with the tax man, and that’s what it’s all about.
