Hugo Chavez Takes On………Twitter!
One of the editorialists for our USC-based Neon Tommy has written a zinger about Comandante Chavez‘ bass-ackwards view of the Web.
You know you are in trouble when a “people’s government” is afraid of the people Tweeting.

Another fine piece from the Neon Tommy group, this time by Katherina.
I do disagree with one conclusion: “The real lesson for totalitarian regimes is that full-scale media crackdowns are a thing of the past.” It seems to work in China…uh, I mean Red China.

I remember reading some Kos diary a while back that favorably compared Hugo Chavez to Salvador Allende. Yeah. The only thing Chavez and Allende have in common are the fact that they’re both from Latin America and that the US didn’t/doesn’t like them.
As a leftist, I strongly dislike Chavez.

So, 233,000 in a nation of 26,000,000 people tweeting anti-Chavez is news? Isn’t 230K about the size of the elite class that ruled Venezuela for so long, with the approval of Washington and, apparently, USC’s journalism dept?
It doesnt matter whether or not US Republicans or Kennedy-liberals like Chavez. Venezuelans do.

How is the mortgage crisis, and free fall in home values, likely to be remedied if people can not obtain a job? There are an enormous number of people that have lost their homes to foreclosure and millions more will until the United States starts producing something more then excuses. It is time to change the free trade deals with China. For crying out loud, our greatest trade partner is communist.
