If looking at her you see anything except an empty fraud totally unfit to be commander-in-chief and chief executive of The United States of America then I politely suggest you need your head examined. Pronto.

Just sent to me:
5 surgeons
Five surgeons from big cities are discussing who makes the
best patients to operate on.
The first surgeon, from New York , says, ‘I like to see
accountants on my operating table because when you open them up,
everything inside is numbered.’
The second, from Chicago , responds, ‘Yeah, but you should try
electricians! Everything inside them is color coded.’
The third surgeon, from Houst on , says, ‘No, I really think
librarians are the best, every thing inside them is in alphabetical
order’.
The fourth surgeon, from Los Angeles chimes in: ‘You know, I
like construction workers. Those guys always understand when you
have a few parts left over.’
But the fifth surgeon, from Washington , DC shut them all up
when he observed: ‘You’re all wrong. Politicians are the easiest to
operate on. There’s no guts, no heart, no balls, no brains and no
spine, and the head and the ass are interchangeable.

“always seemed like a dweeb who got thru college a virgin. Now he proves it.”
He apparently didn’t skip the psilocybin ’shrooms, however.

You just wish.
To the chattering classes, Biden won on points (although many - 16 at last count - were lies). To middle America, Palin won on everything.

“To middle America, Palin won on everything.”
How the fuck would you know ? You’re sure as hell not part of it.

I’m always amused when rightwing crackpots fetishize themselves as some sort of “norm.”

John I’m curious to know how you know this? The national polls which include so called Middle America contradict u. Or are u just guessing? Or are u clairvoyant?

What’s interesting is that the AOL polls, which reflect the most retrograde segment of the internet and are rather aggressively FREEPED (McCain is at 67% to 29% for Obama in their Prez pick) has the Biden-Palin debate as a split - around 45% on both sides. In AOL Land that’s catastrophic for a GOP candidate. My sister sent me a poll (unscientific but an indication of the “middle-American pulse”) from the very conservative Springfield MO newspaper which had Biden winning the debate 85%-15% among readers. That’s amazing, considering this is the center of the Bible belt.
The debate wasn’t even close. Moore’s contentions are a symptom of his bizarre isolation and desperation. Dead man walking…

It’s the right-wing equivalent of whistling in the dark.

Marc, wouldn’t a better question be which sixteen points were lies, and would he like to offer up how many of Palin’s were lies? If Biden lied a lot and still won on points, how awful does that make Palin’s lies, since the whole point of “winning on points” is that you’re making a valid argument while your opponent is selling a lie in a pretty package. However, I think in John’s case “lies” are subjective to your political philosophy.

Greetings from Middle America! Cheesehead country, to be specific. My wife’s family in Minnesota, my family in Illinois and Wisconsin, and all of us voting Obama/Biden this November. My inlaws voted Bush twice, now going Obama. My father voted Reagan and Bush ‘92–also going Obama. And all my hunter relatives are tired of the folksy talk–as if all you had to do was say “aw shucks” and “ya knoooow” to get our votes. So that’s how you elitists think of us dumb rubes? Oh, and by he way, spare us the moose-bagging talk. We already know how to hunt–we prefer you instead explain how you’re planning to run the most powerful country in the world.
So, all you Republican elitists can go away for awhile–perhaps in the same way that the McCain folks just skedaddled out of the state of Michigan. We’re decided now. Thanks anyway. See you in ‘16!
Love,
A (Cheddar) Slice of Middle America

From Cincinnati, living among among urban blacks and migrant Appalachian whites in the southwest part of the city, I can see that much of Middle America is out of patience with this Administration. They are *authentically* underpaid, out of work, and worried about their health care and future. To them, politicians come across as some slick joke, with nothing to offer. Palin is the slickest of them all.

Funny thing that I’ve noticed is . . . .
No one, not one pundit or person, poster or commentariat has used the word “presidential” to describe Palin?
Without that she can folksy, wink, read or deliver without any effect on the race.
If she can’t get real people or even RW pundits or trolls to say she looks or sounds “presidential” - McCain better get used to the phrase “President Obama”
Michi-GONE and now PA might be next? Not a rosy outlook for McNasty so he will now show his McNasty side even more? Talk about a tin ear. The McCain camp is dying from self-inflicted dumb-shot wounds!

Hillary Praises Palin: ‘Composed and Effective Debater’: “It’s amazing, you know, she’s been thrust into the national spotlight with very little preparation and I think that, all things considered, you saw a very composed and effective debater last night.”
What’s she know?

Great anecdotal material from the heartland.
Be interesting to gather more of that where folks in the Republican belt have shamed us Liberals.
Since the neo con and fundamentalist elements have subverted what it used to mean to be a Republican there is a mistake in thinking all Republicans are social conservatives, religious bigots or just zeoltos, cretins and IQ challenged wankers.
My boss has mostly been a Repub. Is married to a black woman and is now voting for Obama. He is concerned about the supreme court being taken down.
On the other hand, I have a dear good friend who has been abducted by the neo con cult. He went from being a lib Dem to now accepting and defending ALL and any right wing crack pot and regurgitating the sound bytes. Palin is Ok, O’Reilly is ok; all anti environmental positions ok. And the irony is both he and his wife’s jobs are the result of progressive ideology.
He is a long time geriatric social worker–funded by the state and his wife is a public defender!
All this flip flop cause he got religion. Even funnier is the Jewish temple and school they now belong to was once the hot bed of post war and 50’s reds when my family belonged to it.
So…go figure.
Hillary and BIll have only proven they are scum of the earth. Their underhanded massaging of the McCain Palin ticket is beyond pornagraphic.
