No, what is truly stupid is someone who doesn't know what post hoc ergo propter hoc means.

What Patrick said: who should we believe the guy whose skilled interrogation of a suspect led to the death of Abu Musab al Zarqawi, who was killing Americans in Iraq or the clueless CPA at his keyboard?

In other words: professional newsgathering organizations have paid professional writers to do professional work, and then Arianna comes in, creates links to their creations, and sells ads on her own page. How progressive.

Patrick, to you "heroes in the field" are only those who succesfully publish books and go into politics by spouting liberal lines. To you, "heroes in the field" are not people like John McCain or soldiers in Iraq who support our mission there.

Is there some requirement on Marc's site that one meet certain "war" standards before expressing a view or sharing information, or is that only for conservatives, Mr. Keyboarder? Ask Marc about his war-time service if it applies to him as well.

Matthew Alexander: Consequently it is clear that at least hundreds but more likely thousands of American lives (not to count Iraqi civilian deaths) are linked directly to the policy decision to introduce the torture and abuse of prisoners as accepted tactics.

Clear? Rather, that's conjecture over slanted and incomplete information. In fact, it's hard for any rational thinker to take that seriously. You lefties are so quick to believe anything that supports your views that whatever the U.S. does is bad.

From the aforementioned Matthew Alexander:

"The number-one reason foreign fighters gave for coming to Iraq to fight is the torture and abuse that occurred at Abu Ghraib and Guantánamo. The majority of suicide bombings are carried out by foreign fighters who volunteered and came to Iraq with this motivation. Consequently it is clear that at least hundreds but more likely thousands of American lives (not to count Iraqi civilian deaths) are linked directly to the policy decision to introduce the torture and abuse of prisoners as accepted tactics.

Americans have died from terrorist attacks since 9/11; those Americans just happen to be American soldiers. This is not simply my view – it is widely held among senior officers in the U.S. military today. Alberto Mora, who served as General Counsel of the Navy under Donald Rumsfeld, testified to the Senate Armed Services Committee in June 2008 that “U.S. flag-rank officers maintain that the first and second identifiable causes of U.S. combat deaths in Iraq–as judged by their effectiveness in recruiting insurgent fighters into combat–are, respectively the symbols of Abu Ghraib and Guantánamo.” We owe it to our troops to protect them from terrorist attacks by not conducting torture and we owe it to our forefathers to uphold the American principles that they passed down to us,"

He's kept us safe since 9/11 and says luck had nothing to do with it. (Selections)

The Bush administration inaugurated the Department of Homeland Security, shepherded the Patriot Act into law and ran a surveillance program of foreign terrorists and their domestic contacts that proved the price of liberty is truly eternal vigilance. Democrats fought these and other tools in the war on terror.

These are a few of the successes that we know about. Shortly after 9/11, Bush said the public might never hear of our successes — partly because we might not know ourselves what attacks were prevented by our actions, but also because the means and techniques would have to be kept secret from our enemies.

In his War College speech, Bush did mention a few successes. He named an attempt to bomb fuel tanks at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport, the plot to blow up jets bound for the East Coast, a plan to attack a shopping mall in the Chicago area, and another to blow up the tallest building in Los Angeles.

Democrats fought the Patriot Act and surveillance of our enemies, as well as the interrogation of captured jihadists at Guantanamo. It was the interrogation of Abu Zubaydah, the first high-value detainee taken by the CIA in 2002 and Osama bin Laden's chief of operations, that led us to 9/11 accomplice Ramzi Binalshibh. Interrogations of both terrorists then led us to Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the mastermind of 9/11.

Randy, as usual, proves how stupid and in denial that he can be by demanding proof of something obvious rather than accept results--such as no terrorists attacks on the U.S. since 9-11 and the planned LA attacks stopped before they started.

But, he thinks we get attacked because we're not nice enough to terrorists. Maybe if the North Vietnamese communists had been nicer to John McCain and our other POW's, they would have learned more.

There is nothing you can do to make someone like you if they are committed by their God to kill all non-believers--especially the "U.S. devils".

Another more likely interpretation he is Dick Cheney and is not the least bit intimidated by terrorist…. or sensitive and fragile leftists.

Sometimes you're really an ass. Go read Matthew Alexander's book How to Break a Terrorist

The interrogators who got the information to get Abu Musab Al Zarqawi got the information throughrapprot building and not torture.

You make the argument that torture saved lives here. Prove it.

Reagan freed the people of Eastern Europe. You have made a huge contribution in freeing the people of the Middle East.

Don't listen to the losers who have freed no one since Truman, who they also thought was a war criminal, but get all noisy and loud when they perceive 'any' infringement on theirs, in their very free and very safe environment they have grown to take very much for granted....and relentlessly criticize.

"One interpretation of Cheney’s decision to admit flatly to ratifying if not ordering torture is that, by admitting to a felony, he is playing chicken with Bush."

Another more likely interpretation he is Dick Cheney and is not the least bit intimidated by terrorist.... or sensitive and fragile leftists.

Seven years without another attack on America. Damn good job George and Dick. History will reward you for breaking down the liberal walls between our investigative agencies that allowed the first attack, and breaking the resistance of the cowardly bastards that designed it in order to stop future ones.

Add to this the freedom you won for millions of innocent and terrified arabs under the grip of these bastard and other assorted hooligans shoving around the civilized world.

One interpretation of Cheney's decision to admit flatly to ratifying if not ordering torture is that, by admitting to a felony, he is playing chicken with Bush. That is, he is saying, "Pardon me"...and he's not being polite. He has dared the AG or Congress to pursue him with a felony indictment, leading to criminal litigation in which all the dirty secrets of Iraq, torture and the like will be dragged out. The only clear way to avoid that is to issue pardons to Cheney, Addington, Libby and the boys.

One interpretation of Cheney’s decision to admit flatly to ratifying if not ordering torture is that, by admitting to a felony, he is playing chicken with Bush. That is, he is saying, “Pardon me”…and he’s not being polite. He has dared the AG or Congress to pursue him with a felony indictment, leading to criminal litigation in which all the dirty secrets of Iraq, torture and the like will be dragged out.
There are a lot of ads offering legal research and motion drafting by Indian law clerks to assist California lawyers. Maybe others as well, I don't know. Their big selling point is that since they are on the other side of the world--12 hours ahead--they can work while we sleep, and the work product will be available when we awake. So far I've resisted, but I am curious...though not curious enough to offer my clients as guinea pigs.

As for Hilda Solis, people are really going to like her. She is a genuine, nice person. She is committed to improving the lives of working people. My only question is whether she will be able to elbow her way into the highest economic councils of the administration, where big-picturre policy is made. People who know her better than I do say she will.

Yeah, Patrick. Try the AICPA ethics code about client confidentiality. Also, I had a girl from India work for me and she couldn't speak Southern.
