Sid Vicious Strikes Again
Sorry that I've been rather quiet. But have been spending the last few days in Northern California at Yahoo headquarters attending the Newstools 2008 conference. It's been rather all consuming and has left no time for blogging.
Was able, however, to help get out this great story about Hillary Hack Sid Blumenthal written by my friend Peter Dreier over at Occidental College. Peter got pretty fed up by his email inbox filling up with daily attacks on and smears of Barack Obama, all originating from Blumenthal's hard disk. So he decided to blow the whistle on Sid and expose how the same guy who invented the term "the vast right-wing conspiracy" has exactly no problem using the same VRWC to spread smears about Obama being a commie.
Yet one more good reason to vote against Hillary i.e. to keep Sid far from the Oval Office.

“News tools?” Present company excepted, that just about says it for the media.
Jeez, where’s Gramsci when you need him?
May 2nd, 2008 at 12:11 pm
I hardly think it’s fair to malign Sid Vicious, upstanding citizen by comparison to Blumenthal.
May 2nd, 2008 at 12:49 pm
Sidney, Sidney, Sidney, I’m known him since 1984. He’s gotten a tad more sour since …

What a crass and unseemly business this politics thing is, eh? Especially the Clinton variant.
I sell for a living, software no less, and as many of you may know, we software sales folk are held in rather lower regard, but these politicians, shite, they make us lowlifes look good!
May 2nd, 2008 at 3:45 pm
The bastard. I bet he sent around Mayhill’s story.

One of my political mentors taught me that we all get into politics out of idealism, and we stay in it for revenge.
Upon whom is Blumenthal seeking revenge, and for what?
May 2nd, 2008 at 5:40 pm
Not sure I understand how your question edifies toward an answer about revenge, but Hitchens had a pretty tough piece on what Blumenthal has become:

Relevant commentary by Carl Bernstein:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/carl-bernstein/the-shame-of-hillary-clin_b_99912.html
As a footnote, Carl Bernstein’s parents were members of the CPUSA (he outed them in his bio - something the FBI, which went so far as to surrveil Bernstein’s Bar Mitzvah, was never able to prove. So Hillary’s McCarthyism, which former Kennedy assassination conspiracy theorist and far-lefty Blumenthal is assisting, isn’t an academic issue for Carl.)

Since we’ve been referncing Blogingheads here, it’s worth noting that Conn Carroll of the Heritage Foundation, and one of the smarter guys in that (IMHO) Bizarroworld, doesn’t states in the latest edition of his continuing conversation with lefty blogger Bill Scher states that he doesn’t thin McCain can beat Obama in November. I think he’s correct.
Forward…

scratch “doesn’t” in that last sentence. sorry
May 2nd, 2008 at 9:15 pm
oooop…scratch the first “doesn’t”

Obama might have his own version of Blumenthal.
Willfully Ignorant Media Gives Obama Activist Pass to Ask McCain About the C-Word
May 3rd, 2008 at 7:48 am
Woody - A stupid question, to be sure, but what in any of that article or links from it say anything about the Obama campaign? And further, what about the Obama campaign thus far makes you think he would be involved in something like this?
For that sly post I dub you the Blumenthal of the Cooper blog.

The sad thing is that Sid’s son Max, who is a good journalist and a great videographer has an excellent video up at Huffington Post, yet the copy seems to serve dad’s interests.

Odd that Bernstein focuses on HRC’s vulnerablility to guilt by association (hereafter “GBA”) with the *left*. It would be a lot more fun to tar her with GBA on the *right*. If it’s fari game to attack Obama because he served on a nonprofit board with Bill Ayers, what about all the other people she served with on the board of Wal Mart? Here is the truly fun one:
HRC worked with Jessica Mitdford’s husband
Mitford was the sister in law of British fascist Sir Oswald Mosley
Mosley’s son, a high exectuive of formula one racing, is now embroiled in a sex scandal involving five prostitutes and Nazi role play
Thus, by HRC’s standards, she herself is a Nazi and is guilty of sex trafficing, no?
May 3rd, 2008 at 11:09 am
You forgot to mention that one of those prostitutes was used by Kevin Bacon the last time he was in London.

Obama beat Clinton by seven votes in Guam. The race is over!!
May 3rd, 2008 at 7:08 pm
In today’s race, the female collapsed and was put out of her misery while the newcomer won. No, not that race. I meant the Kentucky Derby, but it was the filly that Hillary Clinton picked to win. An omen?

Lefty Hero/Martyr Joe Wilson, May 4:
“Judgment and leadership in foreign policy are not intuitive. They are learned through experience. Obama’s long and close relationship with the anti-American hate-monger Wright, his inattention to his responsibilities in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and his careless approach to Iraq all suggest that he would benefit from more experience. We should ask whether we want those lessons to be learned in the White House.”
May 4th, 2008 at 7:30 am
OMFG!
May 4th, 2008 at 7:35 am
Uh, oh. Now, it’s claimed that there are 500 spolied ballots in Guam that need to be counted…and, those spoiled ballot are out of only 1,300 cast in that precinct and one which went for Clinton. Imagine that.
May 4th, 2008 at 1:13 pm
Yeah, because, you know, otherwise Obama wins Guam handily, rather than narrowly.
As he did in every other part of the island …
This crapola will be over soon enough, despite Bittergate and the Wright Stuff.
May 4th, 2008 at 2:17 pm
Guam gets more delegates than does Florida. The Democrats sure know where to put the emphasis.
May 4th, 2008 at 2:25 pm
One of the things I find fascinating about the current coverage is how Obama is ripped for weeks because his former pastor is an angry old black man — Marine vet, btw, unlike, well, any of his right-wing critics, who were all lefties or 4F at the time, conveniently — and how Clinton is not being ripped for her nutty associations.
You know, Hillary worked for the Black Panther Party. As my old friend Tom Hayden recently pointed out.
I was a kid at the time.
But I remember it well, because the Black Panthers murdered one of my childhood friends.
May 4th, 2008 at 2:41 pm
That’s awful, Bill. I’m so sorry.
Besides Sid Blumenthal, Harold Ickes isn’t one of your cleaner Clinton players. Clinton’s Superdelegate Hunter
“…Would anyone want to pick a fight with Ickes, the famously ill-tempered bad boy of the Democratic Party who once bit a rival political operative on the leg? …As it happened, most of what Ickes uttered into his phone in a Virginia hotel lounge that recent afternoon was punctuated with so many expletives that it was unquotable in this magazine. …And in most cases, he took the fight for his underdog candidate all the way to the party’s convention, where he tried every trick the rules allowed–and some they didn’t….”
May 4th, 2008 at 5:12 pm
Harold Ickes is a socially inept hack in need of a good deodorant.
May 4th, 2008 at 7:22 pm
LOL
Damn it Bill, you almost made me spit up my beer all over my computer…
May 4th, 2008 at 7:58 pm
Bill, your old friend Tom Hayden should fondly remember that it was forty years ago just last week that his SDS bunch took over Columbia University and occupied five buildings. April 23-30, 1968: Columbia University Students Stage a Strike
“They also set about posting all over the interior of the building Che Guevara posters and political slogans.”
Today, Columbia’s professors are worse than those student letists of the ’60s.
Here’s a link about Clinton and the Black Pathers: Hillary, the Commies, and the Black Panthers
“Horowitz, it turns out, has stated in print and in interviews over and over again that Hillary Rodham and Lee organized demonstrations at Yale to protest the Panther trials.
“Hayden credits the gun-toting, aggressively confrontational Black Panther Party, which ‘had gradually inspired significant numbers of whites to the idea of armed struggle. Few whites had become John Browns, but the Panthers’ heroic image was accelerating white revolutionary consciousness as no American movement had done before.’”

Just think of all the people we can hope to never hear from again if Hillary loses:
Sidney Blumenthal, Mark Penn, Harold Ickes, James “cajones” Carville, Sandy Berger, Dick Morris (ok, they already dumped him), and best of all, probably Hillary herself.
May 5th, 2008 at 5:01 am
Hopefully Carville will take his sour, wack-job of a wife with him to wherever “pundits” go to die. Unfortunately, even when Hillary loses I’m afraid somebody would have to shoot Tim Russert for us to be rid of those two. They seem to live on Meet the Press.
