If I can bring a little amusement to your day MB, a lite moment from the madness, a small refrain from the worries of war, then I feel mine was not lived in vain.

How did that march go, btw.

What is so amusing about Jim R's posts, and encouraging in the long run, is that the Bush administration's most capable defenders can do no better.

If they’re so well off, why is she working at all?

Maybe she enjoyed the work and felt good about serving her country, feelings that aren't exclusive to the right.

"Then why are you talking about it..."

To irritate you MT. Haven't heard from you in a while. I think it worked.

No more admission of mistakes guys. You've taught me a good political lesson. No good behavior goes unpunished by the opposition.

I feel older and wiser now. Thanks to one and all. :)

PS: I still have an attitude about men relying on their working wives to find them employment. If they're so well off, why is she working at all?

Jim R, no doubt, spent all that time back in Clinton days over who got fired at the travel office to waste time on C.I.A. covers or obstruction of justice in the White House. Those days taught him to keep his eye on the ball.

Jim R: "Thanks for the information on hubby guys. I just don’t have the time to get the details."

Then why are you talking about it, unless you actually *like* getting shot down, over and over, by the people who have taken the time to "get the details"?

This is more pathetic than Woody's deflection of arguments by saying that they exceed his length limit.

Stott you really don't think it funny that, after three weeks of Walter Reed, Libby, and Attorneygate where the only thing that got each of those scandals off the front page was the appearance of the next and bigger scandal that the administration suddenly brings out KSM - "lookie here! Terrorist! Bwah!"

And let's not forget the little bit the other day. Terrorists said to be getting jobs as school bus drivers! But FBI says to parents: "Don't panic"! I did not make that up but come on now. These guys are unraveling.

And KSM? Let's say he was the mastermind of 9/11. Thanks to Alberto "Abu" Gonzales and his interpretation of Geneva as "quaint" they can never bring him to justice and show the world how evil he is since they would have to admit in court what they did to him. Great work guys! You'd make Hitler a martyr!

"What I do care about is the level of threat out there from maniacal elements like KSM."

Can't find anything to quibble about in this post, but do look forward to further comments from Leftists about "the level of threat out there from maniacal elements like KSM" and what to do about it, beyond reflexive Right-Wing/ Bush bashing and vacuous pronouncements about the advisability of diplomacy and multi-lateralism.

I really like, no, love the idea of religious conservatives like KSM being tortured, but it simply doesn't work in our favor for so many reasons. Torture me enough and I'll confess involvement in the Kennedy assassination.

It never ceases to amaze me how certain people are so allergic to the truth. Was Plame covert? Well the CIA thought so - they're the ones who sent a CRIMINAL referral to DOJ when her name came out. I suspect that General Hayden said she was covert because he looked at something real mysterious - her personnel file!

And Joe Wilson didn't have a real job. I guess the Dept. of State is a phony agency that is a figment of our collective imaginations. He was an Ambassador to TWo Africa countries and acting COM (sorry Turner he was Charge in Baghdad, not Ambassador) in Iraq.es that wingers think diplomacy is a joke. Not manly like the wet dreams of Jonah, Michael Ledeen, and the other pajama clad warriors playing with their light sabres.

I guess Jack Nicholson was right. These clowns can't handle the truth!

OT: re an earlier thread with Reg

From CNN:
Incoming Information Minister Mustafa Barghouti, an independent, said he expects the program to open doors for the new government. "This program provides an opportunity for peace and reconciliation. It should provide a powerful base for ending the embargo on the Palestinian Authority," he said.

So Dr. Barghouti is now a powerful figure on the Palestinian stage. This is great news. A Saidian with power

Thanks for the information on hubby guys. I just don't have the time to get the details.

Wasn't the CIA Directors statement about V's covert status made AFTER people began to gossip about how she got hubby the investigation job he desided to report to the NYT instead of who paid him to do it? I mean, who knew she was convert for heaven sake. She wasn't hiding the fact she worked for the CIA.

I can't believe I am being drawn into this drivel. I'm going to wait for the movie. I hope it has lots of sex, else it is going to be sooooo boring.

MB, Ouch. What did I ever say to you to deserve.......oh never mind.

I totally agree that we do not want to turn CIA agents into heros (or heroines.) As Turner rightly points out, this is purely about winger dung and winger hypocrisy (and that of the Bush admin of course, citing jcummings.)

Its all well and good to say this and that about that and this, and to venerate the CIA by watching great good V Plame talk about "covers" and how important they are. Balter is right that the important thing about this whole deal is to show what assholes the Bush/Cheney people are....going beyond politics to simply being assholes.

Fact is, this is, though, nohing more than inter-establishment rivalry. Joe Wilson is not a "hero" and his wife, if she was in another work-room at Langley could have been working on plots to destabilize (name your country.)

Interesting theory comes from Wayne Madsen (who is def. not reliable) - his "sources" tell him that recent Iranian defector Asghari was someone who was blown by the exposure of Plame.
